Small introduction:
Neutral European Countries and their Armoured Fighting Vehicles:
    Republic of Ireland:
  • The Republic of Ireland was officially neutral during World War II, but declared an official state of emergency on 2 September 1939 and the Army was mobilised. As the Emergency progressed, more and newer equipment was purchased from Britain and the United States. For the duration of the Emergency, Ireland, while formally neutral, tacitly supported the Allies in several ways. E.g. Irish volunteers joint the Allied Forces.
  • Sweden and Switzerland:
  • Both these countries were more or less neutral. They did not participate to active war operations, but gave in a certain manner support to Nazi Germany. (financial and raw materials)
  • The armoured vehicles are some times directly ordered by factories in Nazi Germany, the occupied territories and in the cooperating countries. (between 1934 - 1945 and even after the German surrendering)
  • Some times the Swedish and Swiss were both involved by the devolpement of weapons and weapon systems. This was partly because after the Great War (1914-1918) the German Empire moved this activities to the Swiss and Swedish due to the penalties specified by the Allies.
